3rd annual Edinburg Healthy Living Festival held in conjunction with the 1st annual Walk & Rolla Multi-Modal Celebration and Edinburg Market Days
WHEN: Saturday, April 9, 2011, 8am to 2pm
WHERE: Courthouse Square, Downtown Edinburg, TX
WHY: The purpose of the festival is to celebrate healthy living and quality of life in Edinburg and offer citizens an opportunity to participate in fun and healthy community activities. The festival is part of the city’s ongoing commitment to create a more livable and sustainable community and to achieve the goals of the U.S. Conference of Mayors Climate Protection Agreement, which include creating a compact, walkable urban community and promoting multiple transportation options such bicycling, walking and public transit.
In conjunction with the festival, Edinburg is proud to host the 1st annual Walk & Rolla Multi-Modal Celebration sponsored by the Hidalgo County Metropolitan Planning Organization (HCMPO) celebrating alternate modes of transportation such as walking, bicycling and public-transit which promote public health and a healthy environment, support our economy, and improve quality of life and the livability our neighborhoods, cities and region.

AND EXHIBIT PARTICIPANTS:
Participants will include both public and private
organizations that support and promote healthy and sustainable living. The sale
of food is permitted at Edinburg Market Days being held on the square in conjunction
with the festival.
